How To Take Care of your Laptop Battery

Laptop is currently a choice of many people to help various activities of daily work. However, not all Laptop users know how to treat a laptop and the batteries properly.  U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has recorded at least no fewer than 47 cases a smoky or burning laptop, since January 2001 to August 2006. 


Here are some tips to care for laptop battery that last longer: 
  • Laptop Batteries, Do not drop, knock, crushed by heavy objects, or piled on top. This would result in battery circuits become vulnerable to short-circuit occurs (shorted), which then lead to overheating. 
  • Do not place the laptop in the aera is very hot, such as in the hot sun or in the car parked in the open long enough during the day. 
  • Do not use the laptop battery and charger are not compatible. If not sure of the compatibility of a replacement battery or charger to use, contact the service from the laptop manufacturer related. 
  • Help prevent the contacts on the battery holder is loose with a variety of objects made of metal, such as paper clips, and so forth.
  • Wet or exposed to water, are things to avoid from a laptop or a battery. Although eventually will dry up and can function normally, the circuit inside the laptop or the battery will slowly rust which can cause damage to the battery itself. 
  • When using a laptop, avoid putting your laptop on soft surfaces, such as on a sofa, bed or carpet. because it will inhibit the flow of air at the bottom of the laptop and can cause overheating.
  • Make sure you understand how to use, store and charge the batteries and laptop that have been written in the manual.
